The public sector apprenticeship target

Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is committed to providing training and development opportunities which provide employees with the skills, knowledge and experience they need.  We employ both new apprentices to the Trust, as well as offer apprenticeship programmes to our existing staff and are working towards, achieving the 2.3% target of our workforce undertaking an apprenticeship programme, over the period 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2021.

You can download the full details in our report document:

The education, learning and organisational development teams are primarily based in the Education Centre on the Basildon University Hospital site where the majority of training activities are delivered. Other training venues are on Level D in The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre (CTC) and the Simulation Suite. The Library is open 24 hours a day giving staff access to complete their eLearning.

We offer our staff a dedicated virtual learning environment which not only covers all aspects of eLearning but also a variety of other training and resources opportunities. All mandatory courses are constructed by subject matter experts to ensure their knowledge and skills ensure eLearning is of the highest quality.

The Trust has signed up to the East of England streamlining project which offers staff improved efficiency for transferring staff from trust to trust.

The ULearn site is also available 24/7 on PC, Mac and mobile devices.
