Welcome to the GP area of our website, which contains information for our local GP partners and other health professionals.
The GP newsletter
We publish a quarterly letter for GP partners which contains information on developments in the Trust whch are relevant to local general practice.
The latest edition is available for download
If you have information concerning the Trust which you think may be of interest to our local GP community and are suitable for inclusion, please contact the editor, Kate Woolterton.
We run occasional events which allow our GPs to meet Trust staff and each other to examine key medical topics. Events are publicised in the GP newsletter and will appear on this page.
Pathology First User Forum
Friday 8 December 2017. 2-3pm
Lecture Theatre, Post Graduate Education Centre, Basildon Hospital Please park in the multi-story car park and car share if possible
We have set up a new six-monthly pathology user forum. This session is primarily aimed at Trust clinical staff and managers, but is also open to GPs and practice managers. A panel consisting of both pathology consultants and senior laboratory managers will be present to answer specific questions.
We would like to receive feedback about the current pathology service and to focus on the remaining areas for improvement. Please let Sally-Ann Cooper (Pathology PA) know if you are attending Sally-ann.Cooper@btuh.nhs.uk
We request that you send your questions and/or areas of concern in advance so that we can capture any common themes.
Important information about x-ray services
Improvements are currently being made to the imaging department at Basildon Hospital, including installing new x-ray machines and providing more space for patients.
While the necessary building work takes place there will be reduced capacity for non-urgent x-rays at Basildon, however capacity has been increased at St Andrew’s Centre Billericay and at Brentwood Community Hospital.
To help avoid long waits, only patients with fracture / possible fracture, traumatic injury or who need scoliosis imaging should be sent to Basildon Hospital for a non-urgent x-ray.
Patients who require a non-urgent x-ray for any other reason should be asked to attend St Andrews or Brentwood Community Hospital. Opening times and contact details are below:
St Andrew's Centre, Billericay, CM12 0BH
