Key Information

This general medical ward accepts both planned and emergency admissions, and specialises in care for patients with renal conditions.

In addition to general medical care, the ward provides:

  • Treatment for inpatients; day patients (such as kidney biopsy and fistula formation); and outpatients (such as the review of blood results for patients with poor kidney function)
  • Tests and investigations, both medical and surgical
  • Eight beds fully equipped to care for patients needing emergency haemodialysis
  • Blood pressure monitoring
  • Management of infection
  • End of life care for patients with renal disease


Meal Times 

Breakfast: 8am

Lunch: 12noon

Supper: 6pm

Visiting Times

Open from 2.30pm - 8.30pm with a quiet time between 5pm - 6.30pm. The quiet time does not mean relatives and friends cannot visit, just that consideration needs to be given to activity and clinical interventions during this time.
