The Advice and Guidance system allows GPs to submit an electronic request for advice about known patients or a general enquiry to a specialty at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals.

There are a number of specialists involved who can provide a response to a request within three working days.
The specialties that are currently available are:

  • Biochemistry
  • Endocrinology
  • ENT
  • Gastroenterology
  • General Surgery
  • Gynaecology
  • Nephrology
  • Neurology 
  • Paediatrics
  • Respiratory Medicine
  • Rheumatology
  • Urology

How can I access the system?


GPs can access the system through the following portal:

This is secure so you can include patient data in your enquiry

New users and training

To add a new user, please contact the IT Service Desk, and you will be issued with a user name and password.
Training material is available for practices, please ask the IT Service Desk.
