The Chaplaincy Service

The Chaplaincy Service at Basildon University Hospital provides spiritual and pastoral care and support – for people who have a religious faith and those who do not.

In addition to providing an environment and facilities for personal and communal prayer and worship, the chaplaincy supports people in maintaining and developing a personal spiritual discipline appropriate to their own religious tradition.

The Chaplaincy Team offers a listening ear in difficult times, conversation, counsel and someone to pray or read scripture with patients, relatives or staff. They are also available to make pastoral visits to patients.

Opening times

Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm.
There is an on-call service outside of these times.

Telephone

01268 524900 ext 3503

The on-call Chaplain can be contacted via the Trust switchboard on 01268 524900, and ask them to bleep the on-call Chaplain.
