We look forward to welcoming new staff to our team. Starting a new role can be daunting, so our recruitment team work hard to try to make the transition as smooth as possible. They are here to guide new starters through our recruitment compliance checks, to ensure contract details and a proposed start date is agreed soon as possible.

Before you start

Conditional offer of employment

Should you be successful in your interview, we will send a conditional offer of employment by email. This will indicate what references and other documents we require for pre-employment checks.

Pre-employment checks

Before starting with us we will need to see proof of eligibility to work in the UK. This may be a British passport; birth certificate or the relevant visa documentation. We are also able to sponsor employees for visas.

You may need to complete a disclosure and barring service check (DBS) if your role involves contact with vulnerable adults or children; or alternatively a self-declaration form if you are not in a patient-facing role.

We also require satisfactory references to cover the previous three years’ service.

Employment health and wellbeing check

An employment health questionnaire is required and assessed before your first day. This will be screened by our Occupational Health and Wellbeing team. If necessary, they may ask you to have additional blood tests or see a nurse or doctor so they can pass you for work at the Trust.

E-learning

Prior to starting with the Trust you will be sent an online e-learning link. This includes e-induction modules that will introduce you to the Trust, go through certain policies and procedures prior to start.

Start date

We will agree a start date when we have successfully completed staff pre-employment recruitment checks.

Contract: a copy of the employment contract and details online induction will be sent by email in advance of a start date. This will also contain details of your sign on appointment with the HR department and the sign on pack that will need to completing prior to a new starters first day.
